The Giant by Johannes Nyholm

Jätten / The Giant

I made the Costume Design for this Feature Film and also the make up, except for the main character Rikard’s mask.

Rikard is an autistic and severely deformed man who was separated from his mother at birth. Thirty years later he is convinced that he will get her back if only he wins the Scandinavian Championship of pétanque. He tries to do the impossible. His fragile physique and a harsh judging environment are not going to stop him. Plus there is a 200 foot giant on his side.

Director: Johannes Nyholm
Cinematography: Johan Lundborg
Production Design: Ellen Oseng

Costume Designer and Make Up: Pia Aleborg

I WON A “GULDBAGGE” FOR “THE BEST MAKEUP” AT GULDBAGGEGALAN 2017

Costume assistant: Julia Tegström
Prosthetic makeup designer: Love Larsson and Eva Von Bahr
Production company: Garagefilm AB and BEO Film

Styling for Myrorna

I was responsible for the styling of the amazing artist Joyand the room in this project.

“To encourage more young people to donate clothing for second hand use, Aoki has teamed up with Myrorna on the launch of rehaul – a response to the consumer-orientated trend of posting haul videos online. Using the artist Joy as spokesperson, Aoki has created a campaign which inspires people to give away clothing and items they no longer use.”

EX-WIFE / EXFRUN by Katja Wik

EXFRUN

“The concept set out in The Ex-wife comes from my observations of female behaviour over several generations. With this film, I want to look at the limitations that women both consciously and subconsciously set up for themselves. How is it that so many women find they cannot fulfil themselves when in a relationship? The purpose of the film is to address a topic that can generate discussion, with the aim of breaking old habits and changing direction.”

– Katja Wik

Script and Direction: Katja Wik
Producer: Marie Kjellson (Kjellson&Wik)
Cinemaphotographer: Martin Top Jacobsen, Daniel Takacs, Nokokure Zaire

GULDBAGGE for best Makeup/Hair

I won a Guldbagge for best Makeup/Hair for my work with Johannes Nyholm’s “the Giant”!!!

In addition to being responsible for Makeup/Hair, I was also costume designer (a category that I was actually nominated for in 2011).

Being in charge of both costume and makeup/hair meant a lot of leeway in developing several of the characters. I want to thank director Johannes Nyholm for giving me this fantastic freedom! I would also like to thank Julia Tegström who was my costume assistant, and Lena Sundin for her expert help with hair coloring. I share the award with Love Larson and Eva von Bahr, who were brought in to help out with the prosthetic makeup for the main character.

More information about the Giant on IMDB.
