In the making of “The Acali Experiment” by Marcus Lindeen

I juste spent two weeks in the Studio at Trollhättan for the shooting of Marcus Lindeens “The Acali Experiment”. I was in charge of the Costumes and Make Up.

In the summer of 1973, five men and six women embarked on a 101-day sea adventure on a raft drifting across the Atlantic—an experiment on human behaviour initiated by anthropologist Santiago Genovés, exploring the origins of violence, conflict and aggression. Genovés handpicked each member of the crew, mixing religions, cultural backgrounds and nationalities to heighten tension on board and once the journey was under way there was no turning back.

Forty years later we will reunite the participants of the expedition to talk about their life-changing experience in an experiment dubbed by the media as ‘The Sex Raft’ but referred to by Genovés as the ‘greatest group experiment of all time’ and which left the participants wondering ‘what it was all really about’.

Force Majeure – Golden Globes Nominee!!!

Force Majeure / Turist
Golden Globes Nominee: Best Foreign Language Film

I am the Costume Designer for this feature film. With a lot of credits to Hege Riksfjord Hådell and Sara Pertmann for for helping make the costumes fantastic!!!

“Force Majeure” highlights behavior that people have seen in others — mostly in conflict areas — think they’ll never resort to, and then have to admit that they have that side to their character.”
It turns on a happy Swedish family — father, mother, two kids — holidaying in the French Alps. An avalanche sparks a spontaneous act of cowardice from the father, who can’t understand why he reacted that way.

Golden Globes Awardhere.

Bis Zum Tod – at Volksbühne, Berlin

BIS ZUM TOD
at Volksbühne am Rosa Luxemburg Platz, Berlin
20th and 21th of September 2014.

An opera by Markus Öhrn, Nya Rampen und Institutet

“Love is a burning thing
And it makes a fiery ring”
Johnny Cash

A satanic black-metal inspired opera on the destruction of the family. A guest approaches the haunted house and the 13 year old son chooses the dark path.

Bis Zum Tod completes a triptych dealing with the western middle class nuclear family structure: If Conte d’Amour (2010) described a story of vertical stepping down into the psychotic cellar of romantic love, while We love Africa and Africa loves us (2012) dealt with an outsourcing projection of inner chaos on a far away, imaginary continent, this third and final piece is dealing with love as a power of negation and a death drive mechanism of self-destruction inherent to the psycho-logic of the family.
